Extremely happy with my decision to get LASIK at LVI in Southfield, MI. Very friendly staff that walks you through all that you’ll experience in the surgery and recovery + answer any questions that you have. Dr. Clark performed my surgery and was very kind and kept the mood in surgery light, which I appreciated! The surgery was quick and pretty painless. The only portion that had produced a dull pain was the tool they used to keep your eyelids open, not terrible though. Aside from that, you just feel some pressure on your eye. Took about 2-3 min per eye, so pretty quick. They also give you stress balls so you have something to fiddle with / somewhat take your mind off the surgery, so that’s also nice. I’m writing this 3 days after surgery. In that time period, I’ve been able to see perfectly but have had eye irritation (like a dirty contact or dry eyes). They provide multiple eye drops for this. Likewise, I’ve been told I can expect to potentially experience eye irritation until the eye fully heals (3-6 months). Just keep that in mind. Again, truly a small temporary annoyance to pay for perfect vision. It is honestly a miracle to now be able to see 20/20 without glasses / contacts and would strongly recommend LASIK to anyone who is thinking about getting it. ————————————— Note(s): - I did not meet Dr. Clark until the day of surgery. All previous testing was done by techs / other doctors at the pre-op appointment. Pretty sure you could request a call / appointment with the Dr. performing the surgery if you felt the need to do so, but can’t be entirely certain as I did not do that. - If anything changes that would change my view / rating of LASIK or the staff at LVI in Southfield, I’ll update this rating.
Excellent experience start to finish. I felt like I was led through a well thought out process. No hiccups or surprises. My vision improved dramatically. I would definitely recommend.
So far I am about half of a month through my post operation recovery process and my eyes are slowly but surely getting clearer. Besides the first week, they haven't interrupted my daily life which was to be expected. I am looking forward to the final result.
