Dr. Vale: I’m Dr. Steven Vale. I’m Medical Director at LasikPlus King of Prussia, PA. and I work at some of the other LASIK centers in Pennsylvania for LasikPlus. I’ve been performing LASIK, PRK, Epi-LASIK, other vision correction Procedures since August 1994 which is a pretty long time to be a Laser Vision correction Surgeon. I was actually doing LASIK in Canada before it was approved in the United States. I did it with Dr. Faudtapher. He trained me and he was the first surgeon in North America. Dr. Theo Syler learned to do Lasik from Dr. Ioannis Pallikaris who invented LASIK in Greece. So I have a lineage directly back to the first LASIK surgeon, I’m very proud of that. Among them the first American to perform LASIK. Well you know it’s great to come to work every day and be able to fix people’s vision and see a lot of happy faces. I enjoy coming to work because of what I do, I think it’s just an amazing thing. Laser vision correction is the best thing since sliced bread. We’re able to do things today that make laser vision correction so amazing that we can make your vision even better than it would be naturally even with glasses or contacts because we can fix your near and farsightedness and astigmatism. But also correct higher-order operations that cause halos, glares, smoking, tails or rings around lights. So we can actually make your vision better today than it would be naturally even if you didn’t wear glasses or contacts and you had perfect vision. Because we can eliminate the glare and halos as well.
