Dr. Erica Zeiders's Bio and Credentials
Dr. Erica Zeiders spent eight years in private optometric practice which provided her with comprehensive eye care experience making her an asset to patients at LasikPlus – Salt Lake City. A graduate of the Michigan College of Optometry at Ferris State University, her path to her profession was a natural one as she comes from a family of optometrists, her father and grandfather were optometrists as well. During her residency in binocular vision and pediatric optometry at the Illinois College of Optometry, she provided care to approximately 1,000 pediatric and acute care patients.
She has also worked with the Chicago Vision Outreach Program, the Infant Welfare Society and the Illinois School for the Visually Impaired and has assisted in teaching pediatric and binocular vision laboratories to optometry students.
Dr. Zeiders likes working with LASIK patients as it allows her to develop a connection with each patient as she learns about them, their hobbies, and their goals post-procedurally. She also loves the immediate quality of life change that laser vision correction provides to patients.
In her free time, Dr. Zeiders spends time with her husband, daughter and son and enjoys hiking, skiing, watching movies, and traveling.

I had my procedure done on the same day as my consultation. I was excited and extremely nervous. They put numbing drops in your eyes, they put the things to hold your eyes open and then maybe more drops? They tell you to look for the red or greed dot I can’t remember which came first. It is really hard to do because your eye naturally wants to dart around and blink because there is water and 6 bright lights that you are looking at. They said there would be pressure. It was more than pressure for me I had some sharp pain in my right eye at this point and I was thinking WTF did I do. I think at this point everything went black but at some point it came back. They did other eye which didn’t have the sharp pain, just the pressure. They moved me to another table. I had to focus again and it was the same issue. Water in your eyes, 6 bright lights and then you have to find and focus on the red or green. My eyes keeps naturally darting and fluttering. They kept saying be still… I didn’t know how because it’s involuntary so I thought I was going to mess up the results. Anyway both parts lasted maybe 10 minutes all together they sat me up and sent me out the door. I could see but my eyes were uncomfortable so the lady at the front helped me schedule an uber. I could see perfectly but it was like I was underwater. After it was all done it felt like a bad case of pink eye. Scratchy, pressure and just annoying. I took some Tylenol a Benadryl and slept. When I woke up I did the drops like they said my eyes were sensitive but I could see. The next day they felt like I put contacts in for the first time. Maybe just a very little pressure is how I would describe it. I drove to the follow up less than 24 hours later and they tested my vision I am seeing 20/20. I had the procedure on Friday and went back to work Monday. My eyes were a little tired feeling but I did follow up care as instructed. 6 days in now and I see great. I just finished the antibiotic drops, under my eyes are a little puffier than normal and my eyes feel a little fatigued but… I have worked 4-10’s this week (looking at a computer screen) and now I’m sewing a quilt. The 10 minutes of discomfort will be worth not having to wear glasses for me. I was never able to wear contacts because my allergies are so bad and I’m always rubbing my eyes. The picture with glasses was 2 weeks before surgery, redness and irritation was the day after and the final picture is 6 days after the procedure. I paid $3900 for both eyes and they have many options for financing, including in house financing if you don’t qualify for care credit. All of the staff I encountered were kind and professional. I would say that they are very efficient especially in the operating room which may be why the doctor’s bedside manner was a little lacking. Instead of just saying be still maybe something a little more empathetic… scientifically I know your eyes don’t want to look straight in to the sun but just keep looking there and BE STILL! 😂 Overall it was a really good experience I would recommend it to anyone even my kids when they are old enough.

Every step of the process was perfect. Between the scheduling, the receptionist, exam with doctor, surgery and follow up everyone was friendly and informative. All done within a week and got 0% interest with care credit and now have 20/10 vision. Couldn't be happier.
