Dr. Joseph Thomas's Bio and Credentials
Joseph Thomas, M.D. is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology. Dr. Thomas received his medical degree in ophthalmology from Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine. He has been performing laser vision correction since 1997 and joined LasikPlus in 2006. He has performed over 80,000 laser vision corrections and uses multiple laser platforms to offer patients a variety of bladeless treatment options.
Dr. Thomas has also performed thousands of cataract procedures. He has completed a cornea & refractive surgery fellowship at the University Hospitals of Cleveland. He has taught and assisted residents in how to successfully perform advanced, no-stitch cataract surgery and other intraocular procedures. He is also a diplomat of the American Academy of Ophthalmology.
Dr. Thomas is married and the proud father of three. He may often be seen attending hockey games or playing tennis or golf with his family.

I could not be happier with my LASIK. Not only was everyone at the office super friendly at each of my visits, but the process was very easy; I had my consultation, surgery, and follow up all within one week from first looking into it. My price for LASIK was on the high end of what I'd researched, $2500 per eye (before any insurance/discounts), but I didn't think I should skimp on something this important, and not settle for anything less than the best. You make some of that money back by never needing contacts or glasses again (except readers when you reach your 40s, they made clear), but really this was an investment in myself, and the freedom I already feel 3 days post-op has felt like nothing short of a miracle. The procedure itself is so quick, just ten minutes in the operating room. I was anxious about keeping my eyes perfectly still but they made it very easy and I shouldn't have been worried. The worst part turned out to be the anticipation. I also didn't really believe when they said I could return to most anything the next day, but it's true, recovery has been incredibly quick and I had 20/20 vision waking up the next morning. There are some lingering effects, like glare around bright lights and red marks on your eyes, that will take weeks or months to go away, but I would make that trade again in a heartbeat. All in all, I would call this the best purchase I've ever made, and I'm very grateful to the team at LasikPlus Columbus for making this dream come true for me.
Staff so comforting and kind. Very reassuring when it comes to nerves of the process. My procedure was very fast and I had no pain after my nap. Mindblown and so grateful!
