Dr. Erica Person is a highly skilled, board-certified ophthalmologist with over 15 years of expertise in cataract and laser refractive surgery, including LASIK and PRK. Originally from Nebraska, Dr. Person’s journey in medicine began with academic excellence as the valedictorian of her class. She earned her undergraduate degree with honors from Washington University in St. Louis before completing her master’s degree and medical education at Saint Louis University. She honed her surgical skills during her ophthalmology residency at the University of Missouri-Kansas City.
Dr. Person launched her career by teaching residents the art and science of eye surgery as faculty at the University of Kansas. Transitioning to private practice, she quickly established herself as a leader in the field, performing over 10,000 eye surgeries to date. Recognized as one of America’s Top Ophthalmologists five times, Dr. Person is also a published author in multiple peer-reviewed ophthalmology journals, reflecting her commitment to advancing the field of eye care.
Dr. Person’s patients describe her as exceptionally caring and detail-oriented, with surgical outcomes that rank among the best in the industry. Dr. Horn and his team were fantastic! The experience was incredibly smooth and the results great!
The process from the exam to the actual surgery couldn’t have been longer than… 1.5 hours, truly. Everyone was so friendly, I was well informed, the exams were thorough, the videos and papers with info were sooo helpful and I felt less anxious about the process due to the aforementioned. Dr. Horn made the surgery so seamless, talked me through everything he was doing, and I was in and out in about 15 minutes, with 10 of those being the actual surgery itself. I couldn’t have been more taken care of than I was. Same day exam and procedure. And the free consult was thorough as well, the availability and turnaround was truly remarkable and I can’t think of many places that would have that. The payment plan options really helped as well, granted I already had an option but nonetheless, they have it available for everyone. It’s already been a day and I can see everything clear as day and had my follow up, which also lasted about 15 minutes. Best decision I ever made and I’m already recommending it to everyone who has asked me if it is worth it. I promise you, you won’t want to ever go back to contacts and glasses.
I just love love love Lasik eye surgery. Ive been wearing glasses since the 2nd grade so thats about 21 years for me and this has truly been a life changing experience. I have no side effects nor cons about my surgery whatsoever. If youre hesitating please dont! Go get it!! Dr Edelstein is the best! He eased my mind during the process and all of the staff very welcoming and nice
I had been thinking about having the procedure done for years and my only regret is not doing it sooner! Dr. Horn and the team did everything possible to ensure that I was as comfortable and informed as possible. My vision was as good or better than my corrected vision (glasses and contacts) the very next day! I feel great about my decision and recommend it for anyone that is considering lasik.
The staff was great, they were very helpful and were very reassuring. The surgeon was also amazing, both mine and my wife’s procedures were completed seamlessly.
