"Prior to LASIK surgery I had worn glasses or contacts ever since I was in elementary school. I remember my trip home after I received my first pair of glasses. I exclaimed to my mother and father ?Wow, you can actually see each leaf on the tree!' Prior to my glasses, I saw trees just like small children draw them - as large brown sticks with big green balls on top. I was so excited to be able to see the 7 in the 7-Eleven store name. My parents were horrified that I had been going around half blind, and they didn't even know about it! In middle school, I'd always try to sit on the first row so I could hopefully see the board without having to put on my glasses because I was so self conscious about wearing them! Kids at school thought I was stuck up because I'd never wave to them in the hallways; I literally couldn't see them! When I started dating, I definitely would not wear them around my boyfriend because I thought he'd drop me if he knew I wore glasses, so again I went around half blind. I finally started wearing contacts late in middle school, but it was such a hardship to go through the daily/nightly routine of putting them in, taking them out, cleaning them, enzyming them, etc.!!! Not to mention the fact that I couldn't wear them when I went to water parks or to the beach, or on boating excursions. Most of the time, I would just forgo the water activities because if I participated, I'd pretty much have to participate half blind. LASIK changed my life!!! It's so awesome to be able to just wake up or fall asleep without having to do the 15-minute contact routine. Now I can even nap when my family goes on cross-country driving trips without having to worry about contacts sticking to my eyes! We bought a timeshare in Mexico and another in Florida, and I can go swimming in the pools or on the beach, or I can go snorkeling. LASIK surgery has opened up all kinds of activities that I can now participate in without worry. As the Disney song says, it's a whole new world! Thanks LasikPlus!?"

"I had worn contacts since I was 12 yrs old and couldn't function w/o them. I had broken my glasses and couldn't afford to buy a new pair plus my prescription had gotten worse. I didn't realize how bad my sight was until I went for the Lasik pretest and they had me take my contacts out for a week (& loaned me a pair of glasses to use). I took those glasses off one evening while sitting at a stoplight in my car and couldn't believe that I couldn't read the sign of a large department store across the road. How scary! After having the LASIK procedure done, my vision was 20/20 for the first time since I was a little kid. I am a marathon runner and just could not believe that when I went out for a training run how clear the leaves on the trees looked and how much I enjoyed just looking around and stuff I hadn't seen before. Everything was SOOO crisp and clear! I didn't even realize what I had been missing all along! To be able to run & travel to races and not worry about losing a contact or getting sweat in my contacts was totally cool. I have so many friends that I've told about LASIK, it would just be a decision of who to bless with this procedure."

"On my birthday, 1/9/2008, my husband gave me a cashier's check to have LASIK done, which I had never asked for, he said ?you wore glasses and contacts your entire life what would life be like without them.' I thought of other things I would like to get instead of risking my eyesight for not wearing glasses, but I just hung on to the check not sure what to do. My son 22, just lost his job, the building industry isn't too good in this economy these days. He had no insurance and no more contacts and couldn't get any without an exam. He weighed the odds, LASIK or $800 for exam and glasses. LASIK won out, with the payment plans offered by Lasik. He had it done 3/08 in Maple Grove, MN. He's an avid outdoors man and not having to screw around with contacts and solutions has made a world of difference to him. This summer he even took on snorkeling because he could see the bottom of the lake through the goggles, a dream come true no halo's, dry itching, watery eyes. Life took on a new meaning with hunting, boating, snokeling-everything you do-unbelievable. Next, his girlfriend so green with envy had to get it done May 08 in Maple Grove also. She's a hairdressor and has bad allergies, with contacts it was hard to focus and her eyes were dry all the time. 72 hours later she is cutting hair, blow drying it with better than 20/20 and no blury eyes. OK, so now I broke down 6/08, made an appt in Maple Grove they said I could do the mono vision. I was leary but finally agreed. I couldn't even wear contacts in the past 10 years my eyes were to dry and scratchy, even worse in a car, air or heat blowing on you. One week after LASIK UNBELIEVABLE-I do a lot of work with the computer I can see the screen just fine, love driving again, heat and air doesn't bother them that much. I even tried snorkeling with gear I have owned and never used in 5 years it was unimaginable to see the bottom of the lake! Just to see across the Lake! The real surprise was when I brought my husband in for the exam. He said no way he would do it because he was border line for bifocals, and an iron worker, he needed exact vision at all times. So I said just see what they have to say. He scheduled his appointed 3 days later!! I believe his sight is actually better than mine and mine is better than ever. He works outside year round and so far no problems with dry eyes from the wind or just the dirt and dust blowing around. He loves using the telescope/binoculors, hunting with no distorting on the scope, he never thought he would see like he did when he was a kid again."
