IntraLase® - How it Works
Here’s how All-Laser LASIK with IntraLase works:
- A silent beam of cool laser light passes harmlessly through the cornea, creating a uniform layer of microscopic bubbles just beneath the cornea’s surface.
- These bubbles stack to create a flap.
- After the flap is created, the LasikPlus® surgeon gently lifts it and uses the excimer laser to correct the vision.
Computer-controlled and surgeon-operated, the Intralase laser is 100 times more accurate than previous methods employed to create the corneal flap. Because the computer-controlled Intralase laser has the ability to establish precise dimensions of the corneal flap, it is now possible to treat many patients who were once ineligible for the procedure.
